    That means the sim is fooked. Get a new one mate
    So you just bought a new sim? Or its a new sim thats been sitting in the phone for a year?
    After a certain time sims become inactive if you dont register them, basically meaning you cannot use it. Another reason that message pops up is if there is a bar on the the sim, ie its been reported stolen. If its new, the i havent got a clue tbh, if it dosent let you ring any number apart from emergency then its obviously a faulty sim. You can get 1 for a couple of quid or free online

    The problem is that the phone has not been used for a year. On pay as you go, if the sim (ie phone) has not been used for a few months for outgoing calls / texts etc then the network will close the number down. If you want to stay with Vodafone (and if phone is locked to them) then you just need to buy a new sim card pack (about £1.99) but I saw them for £1 the other day in a poundshop. Hope this helps
