yes yes yes! I have had that stupid thing install itself on my computer about 2 months ago. (Except it was Antivirus 2008) I already had an antivirus but the thing was, it was out of date! (that was why it had gotten through in the first place -durr!) So I tried to update my antivirus and firewall, and you know what it did? Completly blocked it! So I just tried to download a free trial antivirus off the internet and all of them would not work. I tried ending its process, deleting, it just keeps re-installing itself. Only one antivirus I installed actually managed to work, I think it was called anti-malware or something. (it began with M) I can tell you that I searched on y!a for past questions and one answerer suggested it and it worked! It was amazing. Of course afterwards my anti virus decided to work. So be warned, this thing will tamper with your antivirus (if you have one) and wont let you install most other ones. I wish you luck, youll get rid of it soon. http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
p.s. restart you computer in safe mode (with networking)

Well you have yourself a semi difficult Virus. The best thing I have done is the following. Download and update spybot search and destroy. Download Smitfaudfix.exe it is french. Then turn off system restore. Restart your computer in safe mode. Run Smitfraudfix. reboot into safe mode. scan with spybot and your antivirus. You may have to manually go in and delete some items that spybot can’t erase but it should tell you where it is. Reboot into normal mode and turn on system restore if everything is good. good luck. Oh and dont be connected to the internet!

It doesn’t seem possible, because your computer has been affected. However, you still could give it a shot by login to safe mode and then uninstall it from Add/Remove Features program, nevertheless, this doesn’t sound helpful. The best solution for this is to format the system and reinstall the fresh new operating system.

Watch out! Antivirus 2009 is a rogue program designed to infect your computer and steal your identity. It will bombard you with pop ups in order to try and scam you out of money. Avoid installing the software at all cost!
What you need to do is scan your computer with an excellent antivirus program. Not any will do, you need to be able to scan the registry because that is where the pop ups come from. I personally know of a program that removes it very quickly. Give it a shot and scan your computer for free at http://www.spyware-fix.net

Yes - my son’s computer got infected. A very nasty program.
Go to this site and download the Mawarebytes’ Anti-Malwarehttp://www.bleepingcomputer.com/malware-…
It will fix it if you can get it to install and run.
I could not and ended up having to do a full system restore from the boot-up screen.
Good luck.

Hey!
Sorry to hear your having troubles.. hopefully I can help.
I have had had my share of virus infections! If anything good came out of it.. it is that now, I know how to get rid of them (most of the time)
Sometimes you can get rid of the infections without taking drastic actions. First I recommend trying this.
1. Turn off your computer, Reboot
2. When you see the computer logo screen (Dell, gateway…) hit F8 several times.
3. Select “SAFE MODE”
4. When your logged in, open system restore and attempt to restore to an earlier time.
ALSO. You can do an online scan for free on many websites and if it finds a problem it will try to delete it. I recommend Trend Micro HOUSECALL.
☆ WEBSITE = http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
However, more times than not infections make it literally impossible to delete them. If this is the case you will need to reformat your computer and reinstall windows. If you are not sure how to do this you can visit these sites which have tutorials to show you how.
☆ VISTA = http://www.buildeasypc.com/sw/windows_vi...
☆ XP = http://www.buildeasypc.com/sw/windows_xp...
** of course this will delete all files, and documents so if you can .. try to back them up before continuing.
When you get back to normal, make it your first priority to get a decent security program. If you want some recommendations, let me know.
☆Good Luck. I hope my answer was helpful. If you need anymore help or have anymore questions feel free to EMAIL me. You can do so by clicking “Email Eric” on my profile page.

start your computer in safe mode with networking bytapping the F8 key when it is loading up…go to http://www.avast.com and install the free home version and run a boot time scan which is part of the set up…the problem is that you can’t remove an iinfection that is embedded in a ruuning process….the boot time scan will scan the computer before windows tart, alloying you to remove them all…delete anything it finds,no matter where it is…cheers

either you reformat your computer hard drive and do a fresh install to completely wipe out or you upload a restore point before the virus was physically on your computer.
building your system up will take longer but be better in the long run.

I almost got it the other day, I thought it was McAfee. You may have to take your computer to a service shop, I don’t know how to get rid of it otherwise.
