“The IP address is simply a number that tells the location of your computer on a computer network. Nothing more. It does not tell you what his name is, where he lives, what his dog’s name is, or his favorite color.
If you think an IP address can locate someone geographically, you are being naive.

It is very, very possible to hack into a web server. Ever hear of a buffer overflow? It would appear you don’t have any true security knowledge if you’re naive enough to proclaim, “it’s impossible to “hack” a website”. Although, I highly doubt someone would go through the effort to get one insignificant person’s password. This “hacker” most likely got his hands on your password in some other manner. Scan your computer for key loggers, viruses, etc. Make sure you have a hard to guess password. You know the drill.
Also you can obtain a lot more information from an IP than Swibs says just by performing a WHOIS. Rather than explain that, I’ll just direct you to a site; http://cqcounter.com/whois/
You should contact the abusers ISP also.
