Where Can I Fin Hardware To Hang A Curtain On A Glass Panel That Is Approx. 6″ Wide By 3′ Long?

Author: admin  //  Category: Uncategorized

I have a long glass panel on both sides of my solid wood front door. I need to put something over these glass panels for privacy so people coming to the front door can’t see in the house. I don’t know how to find hardware for this type of window. Thank you.

My mom has a similar size window next to her front door, not 6 feet though. She found a spring rod…tension spring rod that you jut push in until it fits you know? Then release and the springs and tension keep it in place. She got this at a local hardware store. I would try Penney’s, or one of the bigger bed and bath chains for this rod. They aren’t decorative, just plain white, but the curtain covers it anyway. Hope that helps!

I suggest looking into glass film covering for a frosted look. Or you can have the glass sandplasted with a pattern.
If you have space on the window trim for small tension rods (avail at any home depot type store) so you can easily stretch curtains over the windows.
If you don’t have space for the tension rods then you could use hoop screws to attach a wire which has a tension screw thing in it to make it tight. I don’t know what the thing is called but its basically a metal loop and has two screws with loops which you can screw into the metal loop to tighten two strings or unscrew to loosen. Again available at any hardware store.
Drill pilot holes into the wood to keep it from splitting.
