Premium Rate Text Drain My Mobile Phone Credit - Help!?
Author: admin // Category: UncategorizedI am on a PAYG phone. I topped up to £5 credit - I was sent two messages from a premium rate text and I did’nt read - just deleted them. Now I have 90p left and this has been going on for ages. I don’t know how I get them, but I need to block them. Try and get through to Vodafone very difficult! Any ideas? Thank you xx

Call 191 from your mobile, Customer Services can help you find the number that is sending you reverse billed SMS. All you need to do as send the word STOP to the number then.
The operator has no control what you subscribe to via services like ringtone suppliers, and the longer you stay subscribed to it the more messages you will receive. Contact customer services as soon as possible and get yourself out of the subscription.

u can get ur phone unlocked for around £10 so it will accept any sim card, my daughter has an o2 sim card where she tops up £10 a month and gets 300 internet mins free and 300 text messages free providing she has at least 1p credit lol or i would challenge ur network supplier to see if they can match it or tell them that u will go else where cos rite now ur being ripped off

Yeah, I got this years ago.
Just reply in a text with the work STOP.
That should sort it out. I don’t think there is much your service provider can do.

Unfortunately you will need to get the number these texts come from and thentext “stop” to it. This should stop these annoying texts.

Vodafone are a bunch of crooks, apparently they take about 35 pence for each of these reversed billed text messages.
I had the same problem with a contract phone, did the same as you deleted the text and only found out later they were reverse billed.
Apparently you can phone 191 to get more info on the texts.
You can also reply STOP ALL to the texts but this might not work as the senders are crooks too and will ignore it.
There’s lots on this on the web, this scam has been going on for several years and neither Vodafone (scum) the police or the government do anything about it.
Icstis the UK regulator responsible for consumer protection which is suppose to do something about this type of thing is riddled with corruption with Andrew Bud a known crook on it’s board.

Dump Voda phone and get a better service from 02 or t-mobile

maybe not STOP ALL but try texting back STOP. thats recogised with many dodgy premium rate text services.
And don’t fall into anything like that. Ringtones are easily found free on the web!

Get hold of your phone company and tell them you want this number blocked or if this does not work you will have to find the contact number of the sender and tell them to stop ALL of the SMS, my daughter had this trouble after she downloaded a Ring tone from JAMBA , they keep sending offers that cost a pound each even if you don’t want them.

this happened to my daughters boyfriend its very annoying and expensive. i think the only thing u can do is get advice from vodaphone, or buy a new sim card, it will be cheaper in the long run.
