What Do I Change The File Extension .mod To For Jvc Video Cameras?
Author: admin // Category: UncategorizedI’ve found out that JVC video cameras save mpeg2 as .mod, and simply changing the file extension will fix any importing problems.
Well i’ve tried .mpg and .m2v, but these two don’t have any audio after importing into adobe premier pro. i tried .avi as well but this just renders all wierd.
Does any one know of other file extensions that will make it work fine with premier pro cs3?
thanks.

Changing the file name isn’t guaranteed to fix your problems! For some inexplicable reason, JVC decided to use a proprietary version of MPEG-2 - it’s not just the same format with a different name. Both .mpg and m2v work for some people but not others, but I’ve no idea why!! The only reliable way of getting your footage into Premier, complete with audio, seems to be to convert it with Cyberlink’s Power Director.
