Credit Card Declined?
i have a maestro card (debit) and i was trying to get a contract phone from vodafone but it just doesnt work.
it keeps saying that the card has been declined and vodafone ppl dont know why as that information is not given to them for security order. im really pissed off because ive been trying for so many times. has anyone had same problems or have any idea/suggestion what the hell is happening? i know its not because of the balance of my account. garrr

My card did that once when I tried to buy something from a clothes website (dorothyperkins)
I tried so many times to use my debit card but it wouldnt work,I called the site and they didn’t know so I called my card issuer and they said sometimes if theyve had problems with a site they class it as not secure so they dont let the people who have their cards buy things from certain sites.
I hope that makes sense.
Basically call your bank and ask them why your card wont work.

It may be that vodaphone don’t accept the card, check with them. Also check with the card issuer they should be able to check the reason it was declined. If nothing is coming through to them then its a problem with the system at the other end. They could be entering in end/start date/ sec code incorrectly. you put a payment through as ‘customer present’ /’ customer not present’ vodaphone could be putting through the payment as ‘customer present’ it will decline for that reason. it may be that the card is damaged if its not working anywhere or if its a new card maybe the pin needs unlocking.

The issuer of your maestro card is not going to release detailed information to any one but you in order to protect your privacy. It seems that you have done everything except contacting the issuer. Everything you have done is a total waste of time. Don’t you want an answer?

May be a stupid question, but were you trying to purchase via telesales or in the shop itself? If it is telesales, I don’t think Maestor will work. Best thing to do is to contact the card issuer
