i have lost my root password and unable to log in as root.
so how to change root password if am not logged in as root.

No one knows about my password in an old account and it was alphanumeric. My husband’s email was hacked first because of a popup window notifier and then a few days later, I found out that a special folder in my email account were all deleted. How could it happen? It was hacked and it uses my existing password? Please help!

I found that I am not able to change the password of one of the users(not root).when i try to change it,the response is
“authorization token manipulation error in linux”
how did this problem arise and how can i have the privilage to change the password
