Sql Injection Hacking ?

Just a question.
I was looking at SQL Injection; and decided to try it on my login form.
I entered into the username box : ‘or 1=1
And the page loaded with this:
Error in query: SELECT * from dealers where username = ” or 1=1′. You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ”’ at line 1
But, if i type in something like “admin”, which isn’t a username i get
Username Invalid.
Because of this response is this website hackable?

Logging In As Root On Linux?

I installed Samba and it says I need to be logged in as root. I went to the users menu and changed the password of root so I could acesses it. I am the Administator and I don’t know why I don’t know the password for root. Anyway, when I did log in, it said that I can’t log in from that screen. HELP?!?!

Is having an antivirus necessary? What are some good programs? Are there any out there that are free to use? Should I stay with the Norton Antivirus? I am utterly confused after researching the offers and tariff plans of various cell service providers of India. I have been using Tata indicom pre paid service (CDMA) for the past 4 years. Now I want to change my service provider because I am not even able to contact my husband at his office just 2 kilometers away (My husband also is a Tata indicom subscriber). I am fed up with the message I often get when I call him - “the person you are calling is not reachable” or “the number you are calling is out of coverage area”.
