i got a blackberry bold 9000 smart phone for Christmas it is unlocked from vodafone so i can use my orange sim i can receive sms but cant send them it just says pending any ideas ?

It more than likely still has the Vodafone SMS message center number programmed in it. Call Orange and tell them you need their message center number programmed in your phone. Call them from a different phone though as they will have to have you go thru some menus on the device to change it
