Avast has a boot scan option. I would ditch the AVG and go with it instead,or else go with Antivira by Avira

You should buy an anti-virus from the store, most of the antivirus services that are offered free are malware, or just scan for free then require you to buy the program and steal your credit card numbers or whatever information they ask for when you “buy” their product. If you visit this website it will show you a lot of malware and other problems that your computer can have. http://www.symantec.com/business/securit...

Yep, Avast. You can schedule a boot-time scan in Avast.
For your Anti-Virus……(Always use only 1 A-V…You must NEVER use more than one anti-virus, Even an expired anti-virus can cause a major conflict… did I mention that you MUST uninstall any old anti-virus products?)
For your anti-virus needs, I would suggest Avast, the newest version 4.8. Avast now includes anti-virus, anti-spyware and anti-rootkit components. And all for the low low price of free. You can get it here:http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.ht…
You may want to avoid AVG (free version). It is wildly popular with n00bs, children and the computer illiterate but has historically had the lowest virus detection rate of all the popular free anti-virus programs. Like Avast.

Watch my Avast 4.8 videos on my profile here.
Not all freeware is bad… It’s like going to the supermarket and getting a sample of a food free from the foods vendor because they think it’s good enough that you’ll want to buy it after you taste it.
Avast 4.8 works great for me.
May I also suggest that you run Spy Bot Search and Destroy alongside your anti virus..? I also have a couple of videos about it on my profile here. I also use that and haven’t any trouble from it.
