Read a tut. Use Password=admin & P/W=(’or”=’) for logging into a asp based website. got succeed. done no change to admin settings. is it illegal?

    I’m sure the law could find a way to prosecute you. But unless you did some damage or it is an FBI server I don’t think that anyone will even notice.

    Depends on the owner of the database in question - most government databases would make you liable to prosecution for unauthorized access (even easier to do now with the Patriot Act.) For a private database, probably wouldn’t be liable to criminal action, but civil suits could well be a different story…
