not sure where an answerer got that yahoo is “quite hack-proof”, as vulnabilities have be found and reportedly fixed by yahoo (yahoo messenger as well).
there is no such thing as 100% secure as far as internet goes.
there are various programs that somebody can use to hack or get your password, i.e keylogger or spyware, virus’s etc….
i would make sure you got windows up todate, have your anti-virus up todate and do frequent full scans
get adaware or spybot for spyware scans and keep them up todate as well.
a good firewall also is eseential

if you use yahoo mail, dont worry. their systems are quite hack-proof, and anyone who does try to hack into your account will most likely get caught. but if you want, you can change your email password to something a little less guessable (like 1F43eGd or such)

if this person is in the same house yes they can put a hidden program that records your keystrokes and records IM (instant messenger conversations and emails . Records all passwords . and outside source highly onlikely unless you used a french fry easy to guess password . And no program is unhackable .
